Former TCU defensive end Devonte Fields is going to trial, court records indicate.
Fields, the former Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year at TCU, was charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member last July after allegedly hitting Haley Brown, an ex-girlfriend. His trial is set for June 17, according to court records. He could face up to a year in jail and a fine of $4,000.
Fields was permanently separated from TCU last August. In February, he committed to play at Louisville.
