David Cabellero, owner of the new Jimmy Johns, said that while they don’t have an exact date due to construction, the goal is to open in the beginning of July.
There are already six Jimmy Johns locations in Fort Worth according to jimmyjohns.com.
With the influx of orders Jimmy Johns has gotten from the TCU campus, Cabellero said it was a good idea to bring Jimmy Johns to the campus.
“We wanted to be apart of the community,” Cabellero said. “We wanted to better service the customers.”
Jimmy Johns will take Frog Bucks and Campus Cash, Cabellero said. They will also deliver to students and residents close by.
“TCU has a great reputation,” Cabellero said.
Brady Coggins, a junior finance and real estate major, said, “I always wished they delivered to my house but never could because I was out of range. I’m happy that they are on campus now.
Cabellero said that they will begin the hiring process in about two weeks and that they will hire both students and locals of Fort Worth.
This is the first Jimmy Johns that Cabellero has franchised. All new franchisees participate in a 7-week training program according to jimmyjohns.com.
Jimmy Johns requires people who seek to franchise their company to have a net worth of at least $300,000 along with $80,000 in non-borrowed personal resources according to jimmyjohns.com.
The average net profit from operations is $270,355 according to jimmyjohns.com. These figures are averages from 15 affiliate owned restaurants that opened before January 1, 2010.
Jimmy Johns was founded in 1983 and currently has over 2000 stores open according to jimmyjohns.com.
