Crews worked to repair a 48-inch concrete pipe that burst Saturday morning in Trinity Park.
Mary Gugliuzza, the communications coordinator for the Fort Worth Water Department, said that the water flow will continue until at least tomorrow.
At around 12:15 p.m., a crew from the Fort Worth Water Department worked to close a valve that was connected to the main line that flooded.
“This is just one,” Gugliuzza said. “There are multiple valves involved in shutting down that main.”
Gugliuzza said the line that burst was used to connect several smaller lines. All of the smaller lines would need to be shut off to cease the water flow.
She also said the repair process for a burst like this is not simple.
“We will have to bring in a concrete pipe contractor,” she said. “Those pipes are steel reinforced so they need to assist with that repair.”
In addition to flooding and road closures, some local businesses were affected by the burst.
