TCU leads Texas Tech 33-28 at the end of the 1st half.

The Frogs opened the scoring on their first drive, when QB Trevone Boykin found WR Josh Doctson for a 9 yard touchdown pass to put TCU ahead 7-0.

Texas Tech responded however with a 1 yard rushing touchdown by DeAndre Washington to tie the game.

A safety shortly after would put the Frogs back ahead, 9-7. With 3:34 left in the 1st quarter, Aaron Green ran in the ball into the end zone for a 1 yard rushing touchdown, extending the lead to 16-7.

Texas Tech would respond, however, with a 26 yard rushing touchdown from Washington with 2:02 left in the 1st quarter, cutting the lead to 16-14.

A TCU field goal attempt was blocked early in the 2nd quarter.

A 44 yard touchdown pass from Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes to Jakeem Grant put the Red Raiders ahead 21-16 with 13:22 left in the 2nd quarter. Just under five minutes later Jaden Oberkrom executed a 42 yard field goal to put the Frogs back within two, 21-19.

With 6:05 left in the 2nd quarter, Boykin found Doctson for another touchdown pass, this time 52 yards to put TCU ahead 26-21.

Texas Tech answered however when Mahomes took it himself for a 4 yard touchdown with 3:26 in the 2nd quarter to put the Red Raiders back ahead 28-26.

The Frogs managed to regain the lead in the final minute of the half however, when Boykin found Doctson for his 3rd touchdown reception of the day.

The Frogs faced several setbacks in the half however, with Ty Slanina and Josh Carraway exiting the game with apparent injuries. TCU radio reported that Carraway had suffered a leg cramp. Whether or not the two will return in this game is unknown.

TCU recorded 437 yards of offense in the first half, with Boykin throwing for 350 yards. Texas Tech recorded 278 yards of offense, with Mahomes throwing for 168 yards.
