Update 8:30 a.m. 9/29/15: The Rec Center has reopened as of 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Some TCU students had to move to new classrooms following a power outage in the Campus Recreation Center and Rickel Academic Wing. On Sunday morning a planned power outage led to an unsuccessful restoration after a transformer went down. Rickel and the Rec were without power until 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Kathy Cavins-Tull wrote in an email Sunday evening that attempts to restore power were unsuccessful. A special team was then assigned to restoring the power. “We have had an electrical team working all day to restore service without success,” Cavins-Tull wrote. “A group of specialists will be on campus in the morning to address the issue, and we are hoping to be back to normal by afternoon.”
