The TCU Homecoming parade will cause certain streets near campus to be closed off.
The route starts at Stadium Drive and goes down Bellaire Drive, West Cantey Street and University Drive.
University Drive will be blocked off at the intersection of University Drive and West Cantey Street.
“Fort Worth closes us off at the light and they make everybody turn up West Cantey Street and Lowden Street and go around the campus,” said Lt. Ramiro Abad of the TCU Police Department. “If anyone comes up Bowie Street, they will divert everyone to go around.”
TCU police will also be helping out around the area.
“As far as officers, we plan accordingly to have people around the area just to monitor because the attendance changes from year to year,” Abad said.
He said traffic shouldn’t be worse than previous years.
“It all depends on what is going on across campus,” Abad said. “Usually between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., the university is packed from people coming in from downtown heading home.”
The parade is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 2 at 6:00 p.m. and is expected to last an hour or an hour and a half.
