Cliburn in Sundance Square

The Cliburn hosts a concert on Tuesday afternoon in Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth.
Cliburn in the Community, a free concert series open to the public, was put on by The Cliburn in a renewed community outreach venture.

“It is our chance to get our classical musicians out into the community in settings that aren’t as formal as Bass Hall or the Kimbell Art Museum,” said Adam Wallman, the marketing associate for The Cliburn.
The concert was held in Sundance Square where onlookers casually ate lunch while listening to classical piano.
“You could hear very clearly,” said Peter Kuo, an onlooker of the event. “It was just great and it just really makes you love Fort Worth.”

Award winning pianist, Peter Klimo, plays free concert in Sundance Square on Tuesday.

The pianist was Hungarian-American pianist Peter Klimo, who won second prize in the 10th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Utrecht in November 2014.
“We hope people gain a better appreciation for what The Cliburn put on with the artists we have which are world class, as well as give better exposure to the other concerts we have,” Wallman said.
Klimo played selections from classical pianists Franz Liszt, Ludwig van Beethoven and Isaac Albéniz.
The hourlong concert was a short version of the upcoming concert The Cliburn is hosting Thursday, Oct. 29, at Fort Worth Central Library, in which Klimo will also be participating. The event Thursday is also free and open to the public and will begin at 6:30 p.m.
“These events help bring people together and we need that,” Kuo said.
