Macklemore, Ryan Lewis concert draws positive social media reaction

The TCU community filled the Campus Commons to see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis on Thursday night.

The first SGA-sponsored spring concert drew hundreds of students, faculty and staff. The rap duo’s setlist included hits such as “Thrift Shop,” “Same Love” and “Can’t Hold Us.” Macklemore even crowd-surfed through the mass of Frogs around the stage.

Based on his dialogue on stage, Macklemore also seemed to enjoy being at TCU.

“If I can’t get a doctorate from TCU, I’ll just take a foam finger,” Macklemore, whose real name is Ben Haggerty, said during the concert.

Crews worked for three days to get the stage ready for the concert. Here’s a time lapse of the Commons on Thursday:
