The senior minister at the University Christian Church announced his resignation Tuesday, Jan. 26, saying he plans to step down this spring, according to an email sent by University Christian Church.
Monty Phillips, chairs of the board of stewards for UCC, wrote in the email that the church will begin the search for an interim minister with the assistance of regional ministry staff. He added that Thomas offered to remain as the senior minister between his announcement and departure.
The email states that Thomas “wishes to step back, simplify and focus on his family.”
Rev. Larry Thomas served as the senior minister at the church since October of 2011. He is also a member of the TCU board of Trustees.
