On this morning, all the alarm clocks on campus rang the same tune:
TCU ALERT. DANGEROUS WIND, HAIL AND LIGHTNING. SEEK INDOOR SHELTER.
Strong wind and lightning rolled over Fort Worth around 4 a.m. on Thursday, and a TCU Alert sounded across cell phones and buildings warning everyone to take shelter. Another round of alert messages went out just before 7 a.m. when another round of hail pelted Fort Worth.
The alert system is complex and designed to keep students safe, but students on campus, many of whom were sleeping, weren’t exactly pleased with the wake-up call(s).
Our personal favorite: “Hey TCU I’d rather die in my sleep than have all these notifications go off at 4am.” Thanks, @CoyMachac.
