Students who did not purchase a ticket for Friday’s football game have an alternative way to watch the action.
Student Government Association and theEnd will be co-sponsoring a football watch party in the Campus Commons on Friday at 6:30 p.m. TCU will be taking on the SMU Mustangs at 7 p.m. in Dallas.
The game is set to show on a large screen projector, director of theEnd, Kyler Tesch, said. There will be grilled hot dogs, drinks and snacks provided to students.
Tesch said he hopes that there will be a big turnout for this event.
“It’s about bringing everyone together to cheer on the Horned Frogs,” he said.
Last year, SGA sponsored two watch parties during the Minnesota and Oklahoma State game.
This year, the watch party will be co-sponsored for the first time.
“This year, Kyler approached [SGA] and was like, ‘[The watch parties] have been successful in the past,” said Kat Klein, student body vice president of operations. “Let’s start this partnership and do it together and we moved forward.”
Klein said the funding for this event is split between the two organizations.
The event on Friday in the Commons will not be the only watch party.
The TCU Alumni Association’s Director, Jenny Cox, said the association plans about 25 nationwide weekly watch parties for alumni and parents of students.
