The TCU radio station celebrates its 52nd birthday. “It’s pretty amazing when you think about it,” KTCU station manager Russell Scott said. KTCU, located in Moudy South, celebrated today by counting down 52 years of music. The station played two songs every year since 1964. The event started at 10 a.m. and ended around 6 p.m. The station even gave away free Billy Bob’s tickets to listeners. In 1964, KTCU broadcasted within a one mile range. The station now reaches areas in seven different Texas counties. “Our [KTCU] universe has gone from 3,000 or 4,000 people to almost 2 million people,” Scott said. The radio station was located in the basement of Ed Landreth Hall before being moved to Moudy South in 1980.
