A female TCU student was sexually assaulted Saturday morning by a driver who claimed to be with the ride-sharing service Lyft.

According to a campus crime alert written by Detective Stephen Hall of the TCU Police Department, the unnamed student was returning to campus from West Seventh Street shortly after midnight.

Hall wrote, “A male who identified himself as a driver for Lyft contacted the student and offered to drive her back to campus.”

According to the report, the student entered the vehicle and was offered “an unknown tablet and a bottle of water.”

The student became incapacitated and was sexually assaulted by the male driver and possibly another male, the report said. After the assault, the student was dropped off near her dorm on campus.

The report said both suspects were described as “black males.” The driver was also described as being “25-35 years of age with short hair and mustache.”
