Eatzi’s Market & Bakery is coming to Fort Worth.
After 20 years of operation, the Dallas-based gourmet market will open a fifth location at University Park Village Shopping Center, located one block south of University Drive.
Eatzi’s Market & Bakery is a unique European-style grocery and take-out dinner location known for its wide selection of foods such as meats, cheeses, fresh sushi, custom sandwiches and salads, pastries and desserts, and beer and wines. All meals are prepared from scratch on-site daily by culinary-trained chefs.
The market is also known to play opera music in the background to add to the elegant ambiance.
According to the CBRE|UCR press release, Senior Vice President Greg Pierce was in charge of site selection for the new Eatzi’s location, and chose the lot currently occupied by Chili’s Bar & Grill.
“This is a pivotal location for a lifestyle concept like Eatzi’s which offers high-quality, fresh, prepared foods,” said Pierce. “It’s one of the best locations in all of Fort Worth, right in the heart of an affluent, densely populated area. The end cap location offers ample parking, patios, and great visibility to University Drive.”
The CEO of Eatzi’s, Adam Romo, said the company is extremely excited to open their first Fort Worth location.
“Fort Worth is a fantastic city for food, retailing, and entertainment,” said Romo. “The consumers are educated, discerning, and sophisticated foodies, and they demand what Eatzi’s offers.”
Because of its proximity to TCU’s campus, Eatzi’s new location will also provide another option for students who shop regularly at the Kroger on Berry Street.
TCU student and Dallas native, Courtney Johnson, said Eatzi’s is one of the things she has missed most since she moved to Fort Worth.
“I’m so excited it’s coming to Fort Worth,” said Johnson. “It’s truly a one of a kind place that saves so much time. It’s quality and healthy food I can always count on, and it tastes better than my own cooking.”
Johnson also said she is looking forward to having the fresh option so close by.
“Having it right next to campus will be awesome,” said Johnson. “I often pick up my lunch on the way to class, so this will be much healthier and quicker.”
Construction for the fifth Eatzi’s location began Nov. 1, and should be open to the public early March 2017.
