TCU women’s tennis signs two five-star players to 2017 class.

Stevie Kennedy and Meredith Roberts have signed their National Letters of Intent, announced TCU women’s tennis coach, Lee Taylor Walker.

Kennedy is the No. 42 overall recruit in the 2017 class and No. 8 in her home state of Florida. Walker said Kennedy shows “professionalism on the court,” making her an asset to the team. He added that he is looking forward to developing her serve and forehand.

Roberts is the No. 36 overall recruit in the 2017 class and the No. 1 recruit in her home state of Mississippi. Walker said Roberts is a “scrappy player with good hands and court awareness” and shows similarities to 2016 All-Big 12 Doubles First Team senior, Caroline Wegner.

Walker said Kennedy and Roberts both share three similarities valued by the team: “a strong and supportive family that has high ethical and character standard, a hunger for excitement to improve and get better through hard work and a love for doubles and team tennis.”

Walker said filling the roles of the four graduating seniors will be “no easy task,” but signing Kennedy and Roberts has given the team “a lot of certainty and excitement about the future.”

“This is an excellent start to our 2017 class,” Walker said.
