TCU Women’s Basketball has added University of Oregon transfer Jayde Woods to the team roster, TCU head coach Raegan Pebley announced Thursday.
The 6-foot-1 first-year guard from Los Angeles, California was originally recruited by the Ducks as 78th ranked high school player in the nation and a three-star recruit by ESPN. Woods averaged 12 points, six assists and six rebounds per game during her senior year at Winward High School, earning her first team All-CIF Open Division Honors.
Woods tallied 23 points and an average playing time of 11.8 minutes per game in her 10 games with the Ducks, recording a season-high six points in contests against Michigan State and Lamar.
“Jayde brings a great deal of athleticism and size to our perimeter,” Pebley said. “She loves the defensive end of the floor and brings an ability to create off the bounce. Most importantly she is a worker and is not afraid of the challenge.”
The transfer makes Woods the latest addition of a TCU freshman recruiting class that was ranked No. 9 in the nation last season, the highest in program history.
