A TCU defensive end was accused of chasing two students into the P.E. Clark hall and assaulting them, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Tipa Galeai, 20, was charged at the end of January with a Class A misdemeanor, assault causing bodily injury, according to Tarrant County court records.

According to a TCU police report, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Jan. 21.

Two male students told police they were near the intersection of Stadium and Bellaire drives when Galeai appeared “angry and extremely intoxicated,”  witness told police. He began to chase the two students toward P.E. Clark hall where he punched both students, the report said.

Both students opted not to receive medical attention, and one of the two students decided not to pursue charges against Galaei. A resident assistant witnessed part of the assault, according to the report.

TCU police put out an arrest warrant for Galeai on Jan. 24, and interviewed him the following day. Galeai went to the Tarrant County Jail on Jan. 26 and was released on a $5,000 bond the same day, per court records.

The defensive lineman is a local product, playing at Euless Trinity during his high school career. Galeai played in 10 games for the TCU last season, totaling 3.5 sacks and 24 tackles while recovering two fumbles and forcing one.

Holly Ellman, the TCU assistant director of strategic communication offered a statement on behalf of TCU.

“Texas Christian University expects its students to behave in an ethical manner, abide by campus polices and adhere to state and federal law,” the statement read.
