TCU running back Trevorris Johnson is transferring to Oregon State for his final year of college football.

Johnson will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from TCU in June. He is expected to arrive in Corvallis, Oregon later that month and will be immediately available as a graduate transfer.

The 6-foot, 237-pound rusher ran for 789 yards and eight touchdowns in 36 games in Fort Worth after redshirting as a freshman in 2013. He rushed for 225 yards and four touchdowns last season, including the game against the Texas Longhorns where he rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries. Johnson rushed for a career-high 105 yards in a single game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in October 2014.

Johnson finished the season as TCU’s fourth-leading rusher behind junior running back Kyle Hicks, junior quarterback Kenny Hill and freshman running back Darius Anderson. His 41 carries last season were third on the team behind Hicks and Hill.

“We are very excited to have someone of Trevorris’ ability, character and focus join our program,” Beavers head coach Gary Andersen said per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “He brings a level of maturity to our team on and off the field.”
