TCU Men’s Tennis is now home to the top player in the land, as Cameron Norrie was ranked No. 1 in the nation in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Collegiate rankings on Tuesday.

The junior from Auckland, New Zealand, previously ranked No. 2, overtook the top spot just days after completing the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record in the Big 12 and a 14-1 record against ranked opponents. Norrie’s resume was bolstered by a 4-1 win over No. 13 Juan Benitez of Baylor last week – a victory that secured at least a share of the Big 12 title for the Horned Frogs before defeating Texas to claim the outright conference title.

Norrie’s impressive week earned him Big 12 Player of the Week honors on Tuesday on top of the No. 1 national ranking. The award marked the sixth time Norrie received the honor in his three years at TCU. Norrie finished the season as the only Big 12 player to win every Big 12 match he competed in, while recording an overall record of 16-1 on the season.

Norrie will have the chance to further solidify his ranking when he leads the Frogs into the Big 12 Championship as the No. 1 seed later this week in Norman, Oklahoma. TCU will begin play on Friday, April 28 against the winner of Oklahoma and Texas, having earned a bye for the first round. Norrie has won eight straight doubles matches entering the tournament.
