The Horned Frogs recorded four first-place finishes this weekend at the Longhorn Invitational.
Running Events
Sophomore Brenley Goertzen recorded her third 1500-kilometer race win of the season behind a time of 4:30 and junior Anna Cozart placed third with a time of 4:44.94.
Junior Jalen Miller, sophomore Darrion Flowers and senior Raymond Bozmans swept the men’s 100-meter dash. Miller placed first with a time of 10.25, Flowers placed second clocking in at 10.26 and Bozmans placed third with a time of 10.43.
Junior Tiffany Terry took home her second gold of the season in the women’s 800-meter race with a time of 2:12.59.
In the women’s 3000 kilometer-race, sophomore Nicole Hicks placed second with a time of 10:08.28, sophomore Kirsten Johnston followed behind in third with a time of 10:19.59, freshman Lindsay Tomaini placed fifth clocking in at 10:34.19 and sophomore Molly Hamel placed seventh behind a time of 10:41.35.
Freshman Derrick Mokaleng placed second in the men’s 400-meter race with a time of 46.42, junior Kevin McClanahan placed sixth with a time of 47.25 and freshman Jostyn Andrews followed behind in seventh with a time of 47.90.
Junior Sabrina Moore recorded the top collegiate time in the women’s 100-dash with a time of 11.41 and junior Briona Oliver placed eighth with a time of 11.65.
Senior Judy Emeodi placed seventh in the women’s 100-meter dash with a time of 11.64 and placed fifth in the women’s 200-meter dash with a time of 23.70. Sophomore Kayla Heard followed behind in third with a time of 24.09.
Sophomore Lexi Aitken placed fifth in the women’s 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.13 and eighth in the women’s 100-meter hurdles behind a time of 13.42.
Field Events
In the hammer throw, sophomore Fellan McGuigan placed third recording a mark of 208 feet 9 inches (63.63 meters) and sophomore Justin Sanchez placed eighth with a distance of 187 feet 2 inches (57.06 meters). For the women, junior Paola Miranda placed seventh behind a mark of 189 feet 10 inches (57.86 meters).
Freshman Isaiah Rogers placed fourth in the men’s shot put behind a throw of 58 feet 3.25 inches (17.76 meters).
Freshman Ryan Camp placed sixth in the men’s discus with a mark of 168 feet 6 inches (51.36 meters).
For the jumps, senior Ryan Finnie placed fourth in the men’s triple jump recording a distance of 46 feet 5.5 inches (14.16 meters) and Oliver jumped to a mark of 19 feet 4.75 inches (5.91 meters) placing eighth in the women’s long jump.
Overall, the women’s team finished in third place with 88 points and the men’s team placed fourth with 67 points.
