The search for the next Dean of Undergraduate Admissions is narrowed down to three finalists who will each take place in a question and answer session this week.
The finalists include; Heath Einstein, the interim Dean of Undergraduate Admissions at TCU, Michael Elgarico, the Director of Undergraduate Admissions at California Lutheran University and Jason McGrath, the Associate Director of Admissions at Vanderbilt University.
The three will be meeting with various groups of faculty, staff, students and members of the administration in the coming week.
Each candidate will also outline their vision on the major challenges facing higher education today and how they can meet those challenges at TCU in a forum open to all members of the TCU community. Einstein’s meeting will be Wednesday, Elgarico’s Monday and McGrath’s Tuesday. All three meetings will be from 2:30 to 3:30 in the Scharbauer Hall Debate Chamber.
Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Nowell Donovan said in an email that he encourages everyone to participate and requests their feedback on the candidates.
A committee established to search for the new dean operated under the leadership of Dr. Leo Munson, Associate Provost for Academic Support, and a national search firm.
Donovan said he hopes a decision will be made in the next few weeks.
