Following two strong games from the women’s soccer team to open the season, first-year forward Natalee Heiser and junior forward McKenzie Oliver were awarded the Big 12 Conference’s first weekly honors of the season.
Heiser was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week after scoring two goals within four minutes of each other in the 5-0 season-opening win against ULM. She attempted four shots in the game, three of which were on goal in her 41 minutes. Heiser played 55 minutes in Sunday’s 5-0 win over UTSA, recording one shot.
Oliver earned the title of Big 12 Player of the Week after leading the team with two goals and two assists on the weekend. She secured two primary assists along with one shot in Friday’s win in 41 minutes of action. Oliver registered TCU’s fourth and fifth goals in Sunday’s win, capitalizing on her only two shots of the game in 40 minutes.
Looking to stay undefeated, the Horned Frogs will travel to Colorado this weekend for a pair of games against the University of Colorado and University of Northern Colorado. Kick-off against the University of Colorado is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Friday.
