Two TCU baseball juniors were honored as Collegiate Baseball All-Americans Wednesday. The duo consisted of Luken Baker and pitcher Jared Janczak, two key members for the team’s success.
While Baker missed the final 21 games of last season’s campaign, he still earned first-team All-Big 12 honors after his impressive season. In his 47 games played, Baker hit .317 with eight homers and eight doubles and finished third on the team with 41 RBIs. Baker was named first-team all-American for his second consecutive season.
Janczak was recognized as a member of the second team. Janczak threw for an ERA of 2.31 in 15 starts and finished the season with a 9-2 record. Janczak also recorded 102 strikeouts in 93.5 innings to his name.
Baker, Janczak and TCU Baseball will return to the diamond and open the 2018 season Feb. 18 at Grand Canyon University.
