The spring semester is underway and with it comes a new lineup of activities and events to attend on campus.

The semester’s entertainment is provided by theEnd, an organization within Student Activities providing events Friday and Saturday nights.

Kelly Lee, the Student Activities Coordinator and advisor for theEnd, explained that the events go beyond just the activities.

“We try and create a culture for all our students to connect and have fun and where they can just get to enjoy an experience that they may not have anywhere else,” Lee said. “We hope to create a safe environment where people can meet each other, get to know each other, but also enjoy the talent that’s there, whether it’s a comedian, music or variety act.”

Demetri Martin kicked off the spring event calendar on Jan. 26 and Jenny Slate performed Feb. 2. The lineup continues with:

  • Feb. 9: Chris Lane
  • Feb. 16: Mein Shaft Murder Mystery Dinner
  • March 2: Chord Overstreet
  • April 6: Adam Devine

Another live act will be announced soon.

The movie lineup includes:

  • Jan. 27: Daddy’s Home 2
  • Feb. 3: Blade Runner 2049
  • Feb. 10: Justice League
  • Feb. 17: Thor: Ragnarok
  • March 3: Coco
  • March 24: Pitch Perfect 3
  • April 7: Jumanji
  • April 14: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

First-year students Maddie Thompson and Victoria Diaz attended the Demetri Martin show last week.

“We loved it,” said both about the show.

When asked about future shows, Thompson was quick to point out Adam Devine.

“I’m excited to see him especially,” she said.
