TCU Housing and Residence Life is hosting their annual Diversity Poster Competition for the entire student body.

The goal of the competition, which has run since 2009, is to raise awareness for diversity and inclusiveness on campus.

“Creative students with a passion for diversity are invited to submit posters which will serve as a public, visible way of highlighting diversity as a value on campus,” said David Abshire, Hall Director at Grandmarc.

Abshire said successful submissions must be original and creative, and be accompanied by a paragraph explanation highlighting diversity and inclusion. Those are the most important aspects considered when picking the winners.

“Historically, the winner has been recognized at TCU’s annual Intercultural Banquet, hosted by Inclusiveness and Intercultural Services,” Abshire said.

The winning posters will also be printed and displayed in residence halls and featured in the Housing and Residence Life office.

Davis Castelli, a sophomore supply chain major, acknowledged the importance of a competition like this.

“There are obviously issues regarding diversity in the world, and we see it on the news every day,” Castelli said. “I know issues regarding diversity on campus have also come up lately on campus. Competitions like this are a step in the right direction towards recognizing the importance of diversity today.”

Submissions are due at the Housing and Residence Life office by 5 P.M. March 23.

Poster Entry Guidelines:

  • Must be original work of the student
