No. 6 TCU equestrian defeated No. 5 SMU on senior day Friday in a near-sweep, 14-4.
In Equitation over Fences, the Horned Frogs split the event 2-2. Senior Marisa Malevitis and first-year Raegan Rast earned the points for TCU, and Rast earned her fourth Most Outstanding Player title. Her 89-point ride serves as her new career-high score in Fences.
TCU won Reining 3-1. Sophomores Laska Anderson and Claire Dittrich and first-year Josie Ferrante earned the three points for TCU. Dittrich earned herself a second MOP title this season with a close 73-71 ride over Mustang Keagan Snively.
The Frogs almost swept the Mustangs On the Flat with a 4-1 decision. Seniors Carley Barnett, Emelie Burgess and Mady Fithian all earned points. First-year Alex Beneson earned her point and her first MOP title of the season.
TCU finished the meet by sweeping the Horsemanship discipline. Senior Elizabeth Bohn and sophomores Laska Anderson, Cydney Benes, Jamie Cook and Josie Mootz all won their point. Anderson came away with her fourth MOP title of the season.
The Horned Frogs improved to 9-6 in the all-time series against SMU. Eight senior student-athletes were honored at the end of the meet.
TCU hosts the Big 12 Championships at Turning Point Ranch March 30 and 31.
