The TCU men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to College Station to compete in the Texas A&M Invitational Saturday.
The women’s team finished second in the 6,000m race with three top-10 finishes.
First-year Mariah Castillo placed fourth in her first career meet, while sophomore Evelyn Mandel finished fifth, and junior Lindsay Tomaini finished ninth.
“The women ran very well for it being still so early in the season,” said head coach Jennifer Fazioli. “Mariah, Evelyn, and Lindsay ran together the entire way and looked strong doing so.”
For the men’s cross country team, first-year Lakelin Conrad was TCU’s top finisher. Fellow first-years Sean Byrne and Blaine Stuart finished behind Conrad.
The women’s team will return to action when they compete at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Friday, Sept. 28.
