TCU dropped one spot in the second round of the Nike Collegiate Invitational Monday after shooting a six-under 286.
Senior Stefano Mazzoli is in a tie for first place in the competition heading into Tuesday’s final round. Mazzoli shot three-under 67 in the second round on Monday and is three-under 137 for the tournament. He is tied with seven others for the lead.
Mazzoli has the chance to get his third-career collegiate tournament championship when he tees off at 8:36 a.m. on hole No. 10 Tuesday.
TCU senior Triston Fisher was able to match his opening round score of one-over 71 and is currently tied for 20th at two-over 142. Senior Pierre Mazier was able to move up five spots after two-over 72 and is tied for 32nd at five-over 145.
The Horned Frogs are just five strokes out of fifth place. The competition is now lead by No. 7 Duke as they lead with a score of one-under 559.
The final round’s earliest pairings tee off hole No. 1 at 7:30 a.m. TCU will begin at 8 a.m. on hole No. 10 as it closes out the NCI at Fort Worth’s Colonial Country Club.
