The first seafood-focused restaurant floated to the TCU area and replaced Salsa Limón’s previous location on University Drive. Shep’s Off the Hook Seafood, also known as Shep’s Place, found its way to campus by having connections with the former owners of Salsa Limón. Co-owners Jennifer and John Shepherd opened the restaurants Saltwater and the original Shep’s Place in their home of Weatherford, Texas, where they experienced success with seafood dishes and gourmet burgers. “We want this to be a hangout space,” John Shepherd said.
