TCU women’s basketball overcame a season-high 21 turnovers and a second-half run by Ole Miss to defeat the Rebels 55-50 in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. The win marks TCU’s first against Ole Miss in program history and pushes their regular season record to 5-1. After a 13-1 run to go up 29-17 at halftime, TCU had 12 turnovers in the second half alone, allowing Ole Miss to climb back into the game. The Rebels outscored TCU 23-10 in the third quarter, taking a one-point lead into the final quarter. Dominant play from center Jordan Moore was just enough for the Horned Frogs to outplay the Rebels and win the game.

The senior scored 10 of the last 14 points for TCU. Moore finished with 15 points and 15 rebounds, while shooting 50 percent from the field. Forward Amy Okonkwo also finished with a double-double, totaling a season-high 19 points and 11 rebounds. This was the first time since January of last season the duo had recorded double-doubles in the same game. Both veterans were huge factors in TCU out rebounding Ole Miss 47-32. Twenty-one of those rebounds for the Horned Frogs were on offense, which they translated into 17 second-chance points. “Sometimes, you just have to win ugly, and that was kind of how it went tonight,” said head coach Raegan Pebley. “There were a lot of important, key figures in this game, but we win as a team, and this was a good team win.” TCU will return home at 2 p.m. Sunday to play Army as part of the Maggie Dixon Classic.
