The Big 12’s third best recruiting class became official Wednesday.

It started at 7:10 a.m. with wide receiver Blair Conwright signing his letter of intent, and would finish with 22 new Horned Frogs in total.

The group was headlined by a talented quarterback, productive running back, and depth at defensive back and defensive line.

Quarterback Max Duggan is one of two four-star recruits in the class and was named the Gatorade High School Player of the Year in Iowa. He is rated as the nation’s 10th best dual threat quarterback and will compete alongside Justin Rodgers and Michael Collins for the starting job next season.

In typical Gary Patterson fashion, 14 of the 22 signees were defensive players. TCU will welcome six new defensive backs and six new defensive lineman along with two linebackers.

Three-star defensive end Colt Ellison headlines the group. Ellison had 30 sacks in his high school career and is ranked as the 26th best defensive end in the nation, according to 247 sports.

Three-star Linebacker Wyatt Harris played with Ellison at Aledo High School in Aledo, Texas and is the younger brother of TCU offensive guard Wes Harris.

The team also added three junior college defenders, the nations best prep player, and an Australian punter.

Two of their three JUCO signees from 2018, Anthony McKinney and Emari Demercado saw significant playing time in their first seasons as Horned Frogs, a possible sign for defensive lineman Parker Workmen and Sony Misi and cornerback Tony Wallace.

The highest rated player in the class is running back Daimarqua Foster from Wichita Falls, Texas. Foster ran for 2,800 yards and 44 touchdowns as a senior and became the leading career rusher in the history of Wichita Falls football.

10 of the 22 signees will enroll in January including Duggan.

The team has three verbal commitments, including four-star athlete Tamauzia Brown, who did not sign and are waiting until February 1 to sign their letters of intent.
