Despite a season-best 26 points from center Jordan Moore, TCU women’s basketball was not able to produce enough offense late in the game and dropped their Big 12 road opener 75-71 against Oklahoma State.
Moore would finish 11-for-17 to go with 10 rebounds, recording her third double-double of the season. The senior also added three blocks and a steal in one of her best games as a Horned Frog.
The first half was all OSU, as TCU trailed by as much as 18. Although the Horned Frogs put together a 9-0 run near the end of the half, their 40-31 deficit at the break was only their second halftime deficit of the season.
The Horned Frogs came out unfazed in the second half as Moore and guard Lauren Heard led the Horned Frogs back into the game. Midway through the fourth quarter, TCU even took a momentary lead on a three by guard Kianna Ray.
In the end, the Horned Frogs were not able to match the offensive production of the Pokes, and TCU lost their first game in over a month.
Forward Vivian Gray had poured in a game-high 27 points for Oklahoma State.
The Horned Frogs will stay on the road for their next game, as they are set to play No. 25 Iowa State Jan. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
