After being down by 15 midway through the third quarter, TCU women’s basketball used the experience and skill of senior Jordan Moore to claw back and defeat Texas Tech 70-63.
The win is the fifth-straight for the Horned Frogs as they make their push for the NCAA Tournament.
Moore poured in 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the win, which is good for her fourth double-double in the last five games. The senior now has 1,318 points in her career, moving her past Jill Sutton to rank ninth in TCU history.
After TCU shot the lights out in the first quarter (50 percent as a team), Texas Tech took command before halftime. A 16-2 run by the Red Raiders put the Horned Frogs down 38-29 at the break.
Texas Tech kept its foot on the gas to start the second half, increasing their lead to 15 with 4:29 left in the third quarter.
TCU was unphased and slowly chipped away at the deficit before tying the game at 59 with 4:43 left in the game.
From there, Moore and guard Jayde Woods dominated offensively, helping TCU finish the comeback victory.
Woods finished with seven points, four rebounds and a steal.
The 15-point comeback marks the largest comeback for the Horned Frogs since January 2018.
“This win just shows our toughness,” head coach Raegan Pebley said. “Our team deserves just every ounce of credit.”
