TCU men’s golf had another weekend of strong performances from its seniors and finished tied for seventh-place at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Tournament.
The Frogs finished above seven other schools, including No. 6 Southern California, No. 7 Auburn and No. 13 Pepperdine.
Pierre Mazier ended the first day of play tied for fifth place at 2-under 70. He was three shots behind tournament leaders Noah Norton of Georgia Tech and Jack Trent of UNLV, who shot 5-under 67.
Triston Fisher and David Ravetto finished the day tied for 30th place and each shot 2-over 74.
Stefano Mazzoli tied for the second lowest score of day two at 4-under 68 to move up 40 spots. He ended the day tied for 37th place overall at 3-over 147.
Mazzoli began his second-day success early; he was 4-under 32 on the front nine with four birdies.
Mazier continued to lead the Frogs as he finished the day tied for 18th place at 1-under 143. Ravetto also had a strong second day of play, finishing tied for 24th place at 1-over 145.
Hayden Springer shot 2-under 70 and was tied for 30th place overall at 2-over 146.
On the second day, TCU shot 12 strokes better than the opening round at even-par 282.
Springer led the Frogs on the last day and finished the tournament tied for 14th place at 2-under 214. He played a bogey-free third round and shot a TCU-best 4-under 68.
Mazzoli shot his second straight sub-70 round with a 3-under 69. He shot 4-under 32 on the front nine with an eagle on the third hole. Mazzoli finished the tournament tied for 21st.
Mazier finished in 30th place, Ravetto finished tied for 37th place and Fisher finished in 75th place.
The team will be back in action on March 18-19 at the Lake Charles Invitational in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
