“Starting the season with performances like we saw today is awesome,” said Logan Fiorentino, the team’s head coach. “It gives us a good baseline moving forward. We are always looking for things we can push and improve upon.”
Izzy Baxter had the high score in the Fences event, and she won Most Outstanding Performance (MOP) in that event for the second-straight year.
Grace Upshaw, Wynne Weatherly and Raegan Rast all contributed towards the Frogs’ win in the Fences event.
The senior riders, along with first-year Maddy Buchanan, all earned points in their indoor arena events. Buchanan earned MOP honors after her 71.5 points, an event best.
During the second half of the meet, TCU scored no lower than 72.5 points in Horsemanship. Josie Mootz earned MOP for the event.
TCU swept its competition for the first time since last spring.
The Frogs will travel to Fresno to compete against Fresno State and Texas A&M Oct. 4-5.
“We are going to see really strong teams next week but taking the momentum from this weekend is big as we look to build off of what we did here,” Fiorentino said.
