Trump to abandon hosting G-7

President Trump is no longer hosting next year’s Group of Seven summit at his private golf club in Miami after receiving backlash from a number of Republican lawmakers.

Trump’s opponents sharply criticized his desire to host the G-7, pointing to it as another example of Trump using his position as president for personal benefit.

The announcement to host the summit comes in the midst of the ongoing impeachment inquiry into President Trump and his administration’s actions with Ukraine.

The president said on Twitter that he rescinded the offer to host the summit due to anger from the “Do Nothing Democrats/Fake News Anger.”
