A last-second tip from center Kevin Samuel gave TCU their second-straight win to start conference play, making TCU 2-0 in the Big 12 for the first time since joining the conference.

Samuel’s tip-in with 2.0 seconds remaining lifted the Frogs 59-57 over Kansas State in Manhattan.

The sophomore finished with 10 points and a career-high 15 boards. The contest was his eighth double-double of the season.

TCU slowly built up a lead during the first half, going into the locker room with a 35-25 lead at halftime.

The Frogs looked to take full control in the second half, but the Wildcats were not going away without a fight in front of their home crowd.

Poor shooting plagued TCU, and Kansas State rallied all the way to tie the game with 13 seconds left in the game on a three-pointer by guard David Sloan.

Moments later, guard R.J. Nembhard looked to play the hero again, but his jumper was short. Fortunately for TCU, Samuel got a good enough position to tip the ball in and seal the win for the Frogs.

Nembhard finished with 15 points and four assists. Guard Desmond Bane added 16 points of his own in the win.

The Frogs had shot just over 22 percent in the second half.

Up next, TCU will return home to face Oklahoma State. Tipoff in Schollmaier Arena is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.
