Hurricane Delta could reach Category 4 in the next 24 hours
Hurricane Delta is rapidly intensifying, and coastal towns should prepare for impact, according to CNN.
Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards warned that everyone needs to take this threat seriously as “it’s common for many people to experience hurricane fatigue during a busy season.”
The hurricane is currently a Category 2 with winds of 100 mph and is expected to make landfall on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico by Wednesday.
Gov. Abbott hints at more bars reopening amid COVID-19
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced “more openings soon” for the state on a social media post Monday afternoon, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
“The hospitalizations, number of new positive cases, and positivity rate remain contained. Today was one of the lowest for fatalities in a long time,” Abbott said in his Twitter post.
In his post, Abbot included a GIF of two beer mugs toasting, hinting that the openings could include some Texas bars.
As of Monday, Texas has an estimated total of 3,318 patients hospitalized due to COVID-19.
White House doctor said Trump has no symptoms of COVID-19
The president’s doctor said Tuesday that President Trump is reportedly showing “no symptoms” of COVID-19 after he tested positive Friday, according to CBS News.
The president tweeted that he “learned so much about the coronavirus” and suggested that he may now be immune to it.
Trump’s medical team said yesterday he is “not out of the woods yet” despite returning to the White House around 7 p.m. Monday.
Dr. Sean Conley repeatedly declined to answer questions about the president’s lung condition, citing federal privacy laws.
Biden’s comment during speech goes viral
Presidential candidate Joe Biden went viral on Twitter on Monday after a clip was posted of him saying that people were allowed to stay home during the quarantine because a “Black woman was able to stack the grocery shelf,” according to Fox News.
The remarks did not go viral until they were posted by Rob Smith, a senior contributor for Turning Point USA.
The clip was about 10 seconds and was taken at a round table with veterans Sept. 15 in Tampa, Florida.
