Trump parts with lead impeachment lawyers
Former President Donald Trump’s five impeachment attorneys have decided to depart with a little more than a week to go before his trial begins, according to CNN.com.
The decision was a mutual agreement and there has been no announcement about who will replace them.
The lead impeachment lawyer, Butch Bowers, was one of the five who left and had been in charge of assembling the legal team for the trial.
CNN reported that Trump wanted the attorneys to argue there was election fraud rather than focus on the legality of convicting a president after he’s left office.
