Four-star recruit Jace Posey, who is the son of former three-time NBA champion James Posey, has announced his commitment to TCU via the Posecast, his father’s basketball podcast.

Posey is a 6-foot-4 guard/forward from Houston, Texas entering his senior season at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. Known as an all-around athlete, Posey also set the eighth-best high jump mark of all time with a leap of 7 feet, 4.5 inches at the UIL 6A Outdoor Track and Field Championships. It was the third-best jump in Texas’ history.

Posey is ranked no. 77 in the 2023 basketball recruiting class, per 247 Sports.

He chose the Horned Frogs over George Mason, Vanderbilt and Arizona State.

“I chose TCU because I felt like I had the best relationship with them, out of all the coaches I’ve talked to,” Posey said in an interview with On3.  “I love the energy they gave me. I’m ready to get to know them on a more personal level and see them on a day-to-day basis when I’m on campus. I felt like it’s the best place where I can succeed, athletically and academically.”
