The TCU Horned Frogs will go up against No.10 Baylor in the Schollmaier on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m.

“We have a different lineup than we had when we played them the first time,” Jason Williams, the head coach, said. “…they’re a great team, they’re physical, but we run very similar styles.”

Williams was an assistant coach at Baylor from 2015-2021 before coming to TCU.

“We want them to play their best, so it brings out our best, and we’re just looking forward to a battle with them,” Williams said.

Baylor’s head coach Ryan McGuyere and Williams have continued their friendship despite coaching for opposing teams.

“Ryan and I have a good relationship, and we can create this kind of fun rivalry…they’re just another opponent for us,” Williams said.

The Horned Frogs first played Baylor this season on Sep. 21 and lost 3-1.

“Sometimes we are our own worst enemy…it takes us a while to get in the flow… and against a good Baylor team you really just can’t do that,” outside hitter Julia Adams said. “I think starting from point one, that will be very important for us and something that we haven’t really done super well throughout the season, but like I said, a great opportunity to do that against Baylor.”

If TCU defeats Baylor on Saturday, they may get the chance to play in the NCAA tournament.

“Playing any team is a great opportunity, but playing a ranked team especially is really amazing and I think that we have been putting in so much hard work,” Adams said. “Our training has been so intense and just worth it, and so I think that we’re really prepared and we’re gonna put up a great game.”

A victory on Saturday would be the Frogs first AVCA top-25 win in six years.
