The Horned Frogs scored twice in the first 10 minutes against the Stephen F. Austin en route to their fourth victory this season, closing out their non-conference schedule.

After tying in their first conference game against top-ranked BYU, the Horned Frogs started the game against the Ladyjacks strong.

Gracie Brian’s header in the eight minute opened up the scoring for the Frogs. A long set piece from Remini Tillotson met Brian near the goal and TCU’s leading goal-scorer sent it to the back of the net.

Almost immediately, Oli Pena scored the second goal at the ninth minute after getting a rebound. The midfielder took a ball that SFA tried to clear and headed it into the net, instead.

TCU won the midfield battle during the first half, which allowed the Frogs to control the rhythm of the game and minimize SFA’s ability to create opportunities.

The second half of the game started and TCU opened the scoresheet again in the first 10 minutes.

Camryn Lancaster scored her first goal of the season after a shot from Brian ricocheted off of the SFA keeper, who couldn’t keep it out of the box. It found the feet of Lancaster, instead.

“It was good to see Camryn (Lancaster) get on the board today and hopefully that propels her forward,” said Bell.

With the Frogs up by 3 goals, head coach Eric Bell started rotating the team, giving other players an opportunity to participate in the Senior Day game.

The Ladyjacks avoided being shutout after Jayme Bailey scored their only goal in the 61st minute.

Bailey was one-on-one against TCU keeper Lauren Kellett after a great pass from Ava Shannon. The Frogs’ goalkeeper finished the afternoon with two saves. In the final minutes, she was replaced by Summer Holt, who got her first minutes this season.

“It was nice to get a good result against a quality opponent. Sunday’s are always a grind,” Bell said. “We came out and set the tone early.”
