TCU Career Center hosted its largest-ever annual career fair in the Schollmaier Arena concourse on Wednesday, allowing students of all majors to network with potential employers and discover new career opportunities.
1,503 students attended the fair this year, setting the attending record, executive director of TCU Center for Career and Professional Development Mike Caldwell said. He said the fair offered opportunities for seniors who are graduating as well as students seeking internships.
The Fall 2023 career fair offered a variety of career choices with 130 recruiters from different industries, including business, finance, information technology, healthcare and law enforcement.
Many of the recruiters said they were impressed with the quality of TCU students, noting their enthusiasm, well-preparedness and professional demeanor.
Cara Davis, a career mobility coach at Southwest and a TCU alumna, said that the key to standing out during the job application process is networking, tailoring the resume and being open to new opportunities.
“You will never know what that connection could turn into, so I would say putting yourself out there is one of the most important things,” Davis said.
Students attending the career fair also had the opportunity to get a professional headshot.
