COVID-19 impacted Sharpe's first year, but he didn't let that hold him back from achieving so much as a Horned Frog.

The student-run journal of the arts Eleven40seven is set for its 19th edition this semester. The journal accepts all creative works from TCU undergrads that pertain to poetry, prose, art.

The journal is also accepting creative digital works such as songs, dance performances, graphic and interior design concepts, this semester as well, to publish to their website.

“We want to honor the creative voices no matter what that looks like,” the journal’s faculty advisor Dr. Chantel Carlson said.

Carlson has worked alongside the student led staff of Eleven40Seven for several years and wants students, especially undergraduates, to know that they’re open to all creative art forms.

“We’re really unique because we offer a space and place to celebrate and cultivate creative works and highlight the creativity of students on campus,” said Carlson.

In spring of 2023, the journal released its 18th print edition, including 34 unique pieces of artwork, poetry, prose and scriptwriting.

However, for pieces that didn’t make the cut but were still fantastic, they published on their website.

The journal’s Editor in Chief, Kennedy Bigham, said it’s a really unique opportunity for students to showcase their work.

“This semester we’re really focused on highlighting human creativity with our inclusion of digital art forms now, as well as typical forms,” said Bigham.

This is Bigham’s second time on the Eleven40seven staff and said that the most enjoyable part about it is the fact that it is student-led and produced.

“The most enjoyable part is watching how every team works together to market and produce a whole book in a semester that gives an outlet to other students,” Bigham said.

The journal is set to publish its newest edition by the end of this Fall 2023 semester.

The deadline to submit creative work is Monday, October 9 at midnight.
