Americans missing or killed in Israel
25 Americans were killed and at least 17 Americans are still unaccounted for in Israel, according to the New York Times.
U.S. officials have not released the identities of all missing Americans, but have been in touch with their families.
Daniel Ben Senior, an Israeli-American nurse, was missing following the Nova music festival, which was attacked by Hamas. Officials informed Jacob Ben Senior that his daughter had been killed, according to CNN.
“I have no higher priority than the safety of Americans being held hostage around the world,” President Biden said at the White House Tuesday, pledging to put all efforts into rescuing the missing.
Inflation rates rise

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released its latest price data Thursday morning.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3.6% from last year and 0.4% from August. According to CNBC, the index for shelter rose 0.6% from August and 7.2% from a year ago.
This index accounts for housing and was the most prominent reason the CPI rose. Price inflation in both the cost of gas and fuel has remained a popular concern.

Conservative officials in Montana took the popular social media app, TikTok, to court on Thursday.
Austin Knudsen, Montana’s attorney general, drafted a law banning the app through a preliminary injunction. The argument is that TikTok is not only stealing individuals’ personal information but undermining conservative family values and fostering a harmful environment of online predators.
U.S. District Judge Donald W. Malloy assured that he would offer a preliminary resolution soon, according to the Washington Post.
Judge Malloy seemed weary of the ban. He questioned the intentions of it, claiming that every statement Knudsen has said about the ban has been about “teaching China a lesson” instead of “protecting Montana data,” according to AP News.
