Saturdays are for Horned Frog Football, and even when the game is not at Amon G. Carter Stadium, students still find a way to support the team.
“Away games are a great opportunity for me to get together with my friends and enjoy the game,” Todd Sam, a TCU junior, said.
Sam said he enjoys hosting people and cooking up game day snacks for everyone to enjoy.
“Whether it’s wings, fries or sliders, I love hosting and creating a spread for my friends,” Sam said.
Some students opt to go to a restaurant to watch the game.
“My roommates and I like to go places where other students are to still get the atmosphere of being around TCU fans,” sophomore Grace Matty said.
The Social House is a popular spot for students on game days. According to the website, the restaurant and bar has 20 televisions allowing you to watch games from every angle.
Spencer Sloan, a senior TCU Dutchman, knows all about game day spirit.
“I enjoy when all my friends are together and we can have conversations and play games while we watch,” he said. “Nothing is more fun and exciting than the Carter on a game day, but being with my friends and watching the Frogs is a close second.”
There are also multiple places on campus that have a great game day atmosphere.
Dutch’s Hamburgers is often packed with fans on Saturdays. Its neighbors in the food strip on University Drive buzzed with purple gathered around TVs, eagerly watching the Frogs.
Another favorite spot on that strip is Buffalo Bros.
“I love to be surrounded by other people who love the Frogs, eat good food and hang out with friends,” Grace Heitman said.
