Before he performed during the premiere of “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League,” Preacher Lawson’s standup routine debuted at TCU. Lawson was the headliner on Jan. 26—three days before AGT—for a packed house in the ballroom of the Brown-Lupton University Union. His opening acts were his mother, Mama Lawson and Peter Kim. The trio opened the first comedy night of the semester hosted by theEnd. The crowd of nearly 500 was still piling in as Mama Lawson took to the stage. Her motherly standup jokes made the audience laugh before Kim took the stage. Kim entertained the audience with a standup about his sexuality and nationality. His sense of humor kept the people laughing before he introduced Lawson.
