The Speed Queen laundry app launched this week, causing confusion among students who thought they may have to pay for laundry services.

The app is free to download. Once logging in with their TCU username and password, on-campus students automatically have a $216 credit.

Each load costs $1.50. That gives students 144 loads of laundry, or 72 loads if a student washes and dries each time.

On the app, students select their building, their floor and a specific machine. They pay the fee with their automatic credit. When the machine beeps, students can adjust the settings and toss in the laundry.

The app notifies students when their laundry is almost done.

The new system is more involved than it used to be, but it streamlines the laundry processes in the TCU dorms likely without costing students a dime. And, at least no one has to walk to a laundromat.
