TCU women’s soccer looked to come back from their recent loss against No. 14 Notre Dame as they took on the Central Michigan Chippewas on home turf.
The Horned Frogs came out big with sophomore defender Bella Diorio scoring within the first few minutes of the match off an assist from junior forward Seven Castain.
Castain later scored TCU’s second goal of the game with 15 minutes to spare before half-time off an assist from senior midfielder Oli Pena.
The stands were full of loud, excited fans as TCU entered the locker room up 2-0 at the half.
Coming back out, Diorio scored for the second time with an assist from forward Caroline Kelly, making the score 3-0.
Goal attempts were the name of the game as TCU boasted 20 shots over the Chippewas’ two. The Frogs’ defense kept Central Michigan’s possession time slim though the entire match. This dominance from TCU led to 10 fouls made by Central Michigan, including a yellow card against senior midfielder Jocelin Zimmerer.
Sophomore standout Diorio led the team with two goals over her 57 minutes of playing time.
With the final score of 3-0 over Central Michigan, TCU finished with their third win of the 2024 fall season. Their current record now stands at 3-1.
Next on the schedule, the Frogs take on SMU in Dallas on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 8:30 p.m. CDT.
