After a three-hour weather delay, the Horned Frogs swept the SMU Mustangs in Dallas on Sunday night. An offsides call denied the team an early lead, taking away a goal from senior Lauren Memoly.
In the 66th minute, sophomore Bella Diorio delivered a perfectly placed shot into the upper far post, securing a 1-0 lead that lasted for the rest of the match. After the win, the team now holds a 4-1 record.

Having led the team with six shots, Diorio tallied her second game-winner and third career goal. Goalkeeper Megan Plaschko earned her second shutout of the year. TCU’s next match is against the Texas A&M Aggies.
The Aggies’ most recent game was a 1-0 loss in Waco, Texas to the Baylor Bears.
Junior Sydney Becerra currently holds the title of Texas A&M Midfield MVP and leads their team with three goals. Additionally, junior midfielder Leah Pirro was named Midfielders to Watch Preseason list by the United Soccer Coaches.
Head coach Guerrieri said with the Frogs nationally ranked, the team has some things to improve on before returning to their home field. Texas A&M enters the match with a 2-2 record as TCU stands at 4-1.
The Frogs will travel to College Station on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. CDT.
